Decarbonization planning
GreenerU serves as owner’s representatives to ensure that engineered decarbonization solutions align with institutional values. We deploy project management and stakeholder engagement skillsets to foster ongoing dialogues with communities and ensure proposed solutions are economically and mechanically feasible.
Energy policy facilitation
GreenerU facilitates multiparty dialogues, documents and analyzes complex information, uses decision-making tools to achieve consensus on energy-related policies at the state and local levels. We use an equity-focused lens to ensure that climate justice principles are incorporated into legislative solutions.

Resilience assessments
We perform high-level resilience assessments for properties that may be located in vulnerable territories, particularly those housing climate justice communities. These resilience assessments can inform climate action and sustainability plans by providing guidance on future climate risks to buildings and other structures.
Greenhouse gas emissions inventorying
Using the GHG Protocol’s definitions of Scopes 1, 2, and 3 emissions, GreenerU collects greenhouse gas emissions data through utility bills, surveys, receipts, and/or proxy methodologies, then uploads that data into SIMAP, ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager®, or a similar greenhouse gas emissions reporting tool. We also create custom data-gathering templates and provide training for institutional staff. Greenhouse gas emissions inventorying helps set a baseline for goal-setting during sustainability and climate action planning processes.
AASHE® STARS reporting, review, and support
GreenerU provides a range of support options for AASHE® STARS reporting, such as performing third-party reviews for accuracy and completeness, managing a process with institutional staff and interns, or full data collection and submission. We can also provide an analysis and recommendations on pathways to achieve a higher rating and provide graphically designed reports to communicate your institution’s sustainability progress. AASHE® STARS reporting helps set a baseline for goal-setting during sustainability and climate action planning processes.
