After earning a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Simon joined a New England MEP firm as a designer, developing and managing energy efficiency and reduction for higher education facilities.

While studying engineering in college, he was drawn to coursework that focused on anything to do with energy, like thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics. He eventually narrowed his schooling to energy usage and renewable energy, notably solar energy engineering and energy use in buildings. 

Simon has more than eight years of experience in identifying and achieving building energy savings. A collaborative leader, he excels in coordinating with project stakeholders, including owners’ project managers, planning and finance teams, building end users, and utilities for incentive approval. 

His passion for the outdoors extends to gardening. He also enjoys woodworking and making unique pieces of furniture-as well as striving to make the perfect tomato sauce!

Simon identifies, develops and supports all energy efficiency and decarbonization projects for GreenerU.
