Matt brings mathematical modeling skills, a mechanical engineering background, and a passion for fighting climate change to the GreenerU team.
After a standout academic career, Matt dove right into his decarbonization engineering role where he performs energy modeling–a vital step in the design process before GreenerU implements energy conservation measures.
Matt graduated from UMass Amherst in the Spring of 2026 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering and a minor in mathematics. His extracurricular accomplishments include establishing the Student Sustainability Innovation Fund, a program that supports student-led campus projects, and developing a modeling methodology and pilot program to identify opportunities for energy use reduction on campus. Matt also has a diverse internship background and expertise in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer, all of which make him an essential member of GreenerU’s engineering team.

Matt credits his love for nature to his uncle, “Ranger Dave”, with whom he traveled to countless national parks when he was young.
