David was co-founder and immediate past President and CEO of GreenerU. He was an industry veteran whose career grew out of a passion for making a positive environmental impact by improving the way we generate and consume energy—a passion that still motivated him until he passed away in October 2024.
In his 25+-year career, David held a range of engineering and management positions in a variety of types of businesses. His experience was rooted in the years he spent as an energy engineer, conceiving, analyzing, developing, and designing energy projects primarily for large commercial and institutional clients. His technical expertise encompassed HVAC systems, building automation, lighting and central heating, cooling, and power generation (combined heat and power) plants. David also had significant project management experience focused on managing multi-faceted energy projects and programs for large institutional clients. In his time at GreenerU, David had been responsible for developing several innovative programs with utilities and quasi-state agencies to accelerate delivery of energy efficiency on college and university campuses. He brought a talent for assembling and leading teams, as well as a deep, hands-on understanding of GreenerU’s work to that role. David graduated from Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, with a Bachelor of Arts in energy studies.
