Fatima uses her passion for sustainability and renewable energy to perform comprehensive energy audits of building systems, including lighting, electric vehicle charging stations, and HVAC projects.
Fatima Lynch-Smith plays a pivotal role in assisting project developers with crafting proposal responses and developing cost estimates tailored to client needs. Using various project management tools, such as the energy auditing software SnapCount, she generates accurate data for energy designs and reports. Fatima collaborates with the project managers to maintain up-to-date project schedules, document as-built conditions, and address field engineering challenges.
Fatima brings a unique blend of analytical prowess and creative problem-solving to every project. With a solid foundation in statistics and visualization programs like Python, Power BI, Tableau, and R, she has a keen eye for detail. She can extract meaningful patterns, trends, and correlations from various sources of information.
She developed a custom tool for identifying solar feasibility in large-scale applications. Given user input, this tool has the ability to calculate the federal, state, and local incentives and MACRS depreciation. Fatima also created a similar tool for EV charging stations.
Fatima joined GreenerU as an intern during the summer of 2023 as an engineering student at the University of Rhode Island. At URI, she contributed to doctoral-level research on the future of electric vehicles. In her spare time, she has been working on converting a combustible-engine vehicle to battery-operated.
Fatima passed the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals of Engineering exam towards her Engineer-In-Training certification with the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. This is a crucial step in obtaining her Professional Engineering license, symbolizing professionalism, competence, and dedication to the highest engineering practice standards. She will receive official certification in the late summer of 2024.
