Direct client engagement

Ongoing, close communication with our clients during project design and implementation is one of our top priorities. This is to ensure that we are accurately performing our tasks to client specifications and in mutual agreement about next steps. GreenerU engages directly with our clients on regularly scheduled check-in meetings to offer progress reports, gather feedback, communicate scheduling and possible disruptions to operations, and more.

Stakeholder engagement

What makes working with educational institutions unique is the attention we pay to the many stakeholders on campuses to ensure that a project is successful. Many campus spaces are occupied 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Laboratories, dining services, and athletic facilities have special ventilation, health, and safety requirements where user input is essential to maximizing energy savings, occupant comfort, and functionality.

1. Pre-construction

GreenerU works with campus staff to inform key-stakeholders of the why, what, and how of a project to promote buy-in from the affected stakeholders. During this phase, we collect information and data that can be helpful in measuring and communicating project success. For this phase, we might host a town-hall meeting or develop a flyer or newsletter to share with stakeholders.

2. Construction phase

During construction, GreenerU has found that it is crucial to inform affected stakeholders of construction details and prepare them for any necessary safety measures, which helps to ensure smooth implementation. For this phase, we have found that email updates reinforced with posters including contact information is helpful.

3. Post-construction

The completion of construction is an opportune time to thank stakeholders, gather feedback on the process, and share the results to build support for more energy-efficiency and safety projects. To do this, we will host a building walk-through or tour—and we send an email to all building occupants to thank them for their patience during any disruption.
