As a signatory of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment, Hampshire College’s President Jonathan Lash enlisted the help of GreenerU to find energy savings.

GreenerU worked under a tight timeframe to perform a Climate Action Plan for Hampshire College by April 2012, which included a series of recommendations toward achieving climate neutrality through investments in energy-efficiency upgrades, renewable energy, and other opportunities.

GreenerU also worked with MassDevelopment to provide financing for a program called Mass College Green. This program delivered energy efficiency as a service with the college paying only for delivered energy savings over a five-year period with no upfront capital investment. As a result, GreenerU performed a variety of energy services, including the installation of variable frequency drives, lighting upgrades, and building automation systems improvements.
